View Full Version : Uprating alternator?
If you uprate your alternator by quite a large amount quite a bit more power is needed to turn it. My question is will it affect the power of the engine in any way as it is creating more of a drag.
well if it took 1bhp it would b alot, and the difference between a low output unit and a high output unit isnt much different, i very much doubt even on a rolling road u would see any differecne at all
1bhp is about half of my engine power!!!

they are only hard to turn if you are using all the capacity
this is wot i was trying to say, they weight the very slightest more becu of extra winds on the moving parts. but only under a load would u maybe notice 1 or 2 bhp drop.
