Anyone on here ever taken legal action (CAB/solicitors/small claims court/ccj's etc) against someone who owed you any money?
I'm thinking about it as i feel i'm having the pi$$ taken out of me, i've been waiting since february for some money i was owed, the person who owes it me claims to have sent it via paypal, but nothing's been recieved into the account, contact from this person has now stopped so i'm considering the above action!

Do you have any proof that said person owes you money. ie: written agreement etc.
Cos if you dont then good luck. lol
Started a CCJ but it got bailed out of before it hit the court lol.
They prefer you to avoid the small claims court but if its not possible to avoid then you go, iirc its the local court to the one being claimed against.
no show on either side and it defaults in the person presents favour

I know about the effects of CCJ's, but my point is i've waited long enough and the fact that it's not thousands isn't the point!
yeh just ignore it, i got done out of ?400 ish on Paypal, wasnt covered for some reason. Everyone gets scammed at some point in their life lol
another client or two should cover the loss tracie!!
ring round a few local law firms. they usually set aside a certain day for free consultations. free legal advice is going to be better than most of the posts on here......
TBH its not worth it. I took a flatmate through small claims after they trashed the house and bolted, leaving me and the other flat mate a ?3k bill for damages. Took it to small claims to get money back which took a year and ?75 to get it started. The person claimed poverty and offered to pay ?1 a month which the court rejected and ordered a them to pay in full. They appealed and offered to pay ?5 a week which the court agreed.
They never paid - we followed it up and the court said - no point it'll cost you more money.
We're still waiting for the 1st instalment and that was 10 years ago!
Or if it someone you "know" or "friend" etc try and come to an arrangement for them to pay a certain amount each month to you.
Failing that pay them a visit and ask for it face to face...

Thats as good as a yes. If it wasnt about that you'd just say No? I'm told by that person you have been offered your items back so not sure you'd have much grounds. Again presuming it is about that case i'm also not sure what the courts would say about you deciding to now say they owe you more as you just feel like putting the price up?

Shows how much you know Mark lol
Considering this forum is based on trust, & a shared common interest, it is a difficult situation.
If a deal was agreed, then it should be honoured, or if something has gone wrong, ie. financial troubles, but the goods are fine, then the vendor has the right to their goods returned, in good condition at the cost of the purchaser.
If the goods were faulty or not as described, then the vendor must stand the cost of shipping.
that is the basis of consumer law, whether the goods are new or used.

nasty - v nasty. I think as a club we should support our members and try and resolve this.
PNG court is session!
personally I think PNG should have fcuk all to do with it tbh.... we arent "ebay" we dont offer buyer/seller protection as "we" would be sooooooo damn liable for any mild twtich (you know how bad ebay is these days).
as stated in the F/S section, buyer beware and if you get stiffed then its kinda tough and you have to sort it yourselves.
