vynal and its not expensive - nip along to a graphics shop or even (and I kid you not) your local B&Q and get some dylon (I think) - superb stuff and comes in all manner of shades - even tiger print!

The vynals in 2 sections 2 (3 if you include the door). 1st bit from the rear window (which for best results you should remove) to the 1st indentation. The second bit overlaps this and wraps round the door edge.

dave i went to a sign shop and bought a big sheet, its darker and looks better then the original stuff as its not as dull but still very close to the original colour.

I had mine made up by a local sign writer and they were quite good, just make sure its 100% clean before they apply the vinyl and it should be fine.

Not sure why mk2s had black instead of grey vinyl but this is how mine came out:

not all mk2 had black vynal , on models that had window frames as std (sri/gte/gsi) it was a bit bluey , the same colour as the frame :thumb:

Vinyl should cost you no more than ?10 really, i've fitted some to a couple of cars in the past, you can get a matt black 'textured' vinyl that pretty close to the origional, all you need to do is get a strip cut to the right height then just cut it into 4 sections, take your time when cutting the ends where they finish in the door shuts and it'll look fine.
