could anyone tell me how to widen the track on a nova..? I would like to widen the track by around 10" in total - 5" each side, front and back. I thought about doing this with spacers but they don't seem to be available, would running gear off of another vauxhall do the job?
cheers, skiddy :D

Find out the track widths of the other FWD vauxhalls, if one matches roughly what you want, then you can match the track width of that and then use its driveshafts, meaning you won't have to get custom ones made.
Obviously you're going to need to extend the TCA's and steering control arms (track rods). I'd consider making up a bracket that will bolt to the steering knuckle, and the bottom of the strut, and will correct the camber. Extend the tracking control arms (bottom arms) out to the steering knuckle to keep the pivot in the same place regarding the wheel. You'll probably need to do some work on the turrets aswell to move them out, or to angle the top faces so as to retain movement in the top mount when the suspension travels.
As far as the rear goes you'll probably have to fabricate your own rear beam/trailing arm/independant suspension setup.

You can buy wide track kits form clarke mtorsoport, they include lower arms, tie bars, track control arms and a complete rear beam. Dont think they widen as much as you would like though?

thanks guys, the reason i want to do this is to stop the car lifting when going into the corners during oval racing. i did consider cutting out the centre of the rims and simply turning them inside-out but didn't want to do a heath-robinson job. thanks again.
