Hello all,

I am after a bit of advice i have wanted a nova most of my life but due to having to drive an auto it has not been feasible,

Could we use a corsa B auto as a donor to fire into a nova or are they drastically different mechanically?

Many Thanks In Advance

i think so mate, i think its just a case of useing a gearbox off an automatic corsa, astra. thats if the mounts are the same im not sure about the mounts thought, ive never touched one,

the other lads should point you in the right direction:thumb:

I think the problem with the lack of replys here is mainly because its never been tackled as far as I can remember!

However, i would not imagine that vauxhall drastically changed the way the box mounts in relation to a manual box, and I would also guess that the box itself should mount to a Gte or pretty much any other small block engine in the range.

If I were tackling the job however, i would look for a corsa doner car and take the engine AND box from it in one hit, as i know for a fact the engine's ecu is mapped slightly differently for an auto, as well as silly little things like the kick down switch on the pedal etc.. also bear in mind the gearbox itself will have an ecu and loom which youll need to salvage, another good reason to have a doner car as you know youll have everything.

I say go for it, cant be that difficult! And if you have a good camera there wont be any problems you come accross that cant be shared amongst us all. Good luck :)

Ive always had this idea in the back of my mind, ideally i'd just keep it simple and go for a 2.0 8v auto.

A nice lot of lazy power, in a nova.

my grandmother has a corsa b auto. The box looks pretty much identical (externally) to a normal F13/F15 box.

As lee pea said, you would need to get a complete corba B as a donor (or even see if you can get an early corsa C setup with the semi auto bit where you can +/- the gears yourself but with no clutch)

The engine needs to come from the donor as it takes a different style of flywheel as it has no clutch on it and so on.

sounds like an interesting project though!

I would recommend looking for a mk3 astra 1.6 auto. it would be a fairly easy fit.

Is it worth going for the electric controlled clutch option???
I tried looking into it when dreaming about a sequential change, but the companies wanted to know about motability etc, so I dropped it.
