afaik the 1.3sr is 70bhp and the 1.4sr is 72bhp, the 1.3sr has a much better cylinder head on it though, the 1.4sr has square inlet ports which are s***

Can you use a 1.2 spi dizzy with a 1.4 sr, Im not too sure but I think I need a dizzy from a carb engine but if not then its a bonus

a rebuilt 1.3 will still be fairly quick. I can't imagine a 20 year old engine still produces anything like the power that it did when new.

I maintain that you should get a 1.3 rebored with 1.2 pistons (& head gasket) it gives a 1.4, you have a 1.3 engine no. which is good for the insurance, but it does involve a bit of work to measure all of the chamber sizes, gasket thicknesses & piston dishes, followed by some machining of the pistons to get the compression down for u/l petrol. but it does go rather well.
