start by cutting/grinding out the rotten areas they always get bigger
if they get out of hand it may not be worth saving to some people
make sure you treat the rust as you go along or it will just show it's ugly
face again plates should be ok as long as it's done well

Some of it looks like surface rust.

Get a wire brush wheel on a drill & find good metal.

TBH if you have to ask, give it to the professionals to do. Just make sure you treat the insides of any box sections after the welding has been done.

i am alright at plateing up the body work(see the boot corner ive already done)

but when it comes to chassis rails whats the best method ,if i cut away the rust a large section of the rail will be gone too then what do i do weld some box section in to replace it .

does anyone have any pics to show how its done

box section is straight some bits were mine is corroded isnt thats whats confusing me

People recomended I cut decent rails from a scrapped nova and weld them inplace of my rotten ones, so thats another option to consider.
