i've started building a real parcel shelf and have decided to do something a little differet!

Basically i want to have the parcel shelf "stealth" but its prob going to be about 5/6" deep with multi changer/amp/6x6's in. (sort of like a box/tray)

im hoping the multi changer will be mounted dead center (facing the rear and the 6x9/amp around it.

The multi changer will be flush with the edge of the shelf allowing easy access to it (boxed in by mdf), So there's "easy" access when the boot is opened but not viewable when shut.

Also when the boot is shut the bottom of the shelf will sit under my rear wiper stopping any chance on shelf being stolen!!! (in theory)

Still with me

as the top of the shelf is only going to be carpeted and mdf around the out side of it - do you think it will overheat (this is my only worry).

as you may guess its not my nova

Thanks

even with a "normal" stealth shelf its hard enough to get stuff in and out of the boot so with a 5/6" deep one its gonna be a total mare! and most of the boot space will be gone, the idea of mounting the changer on it is a good idea, but maybe not with a box.

Oh and if anyone wants to nick it they will if they are detremined enough lol

cambridge its should be ok the box/tray should only be about 4" deep

but the bottom of the shelf is actually bigger than the top (from rear window to seat) making it next to impossible to get out im gunna send saturday having another go ill update how its going and post a pic (even though its not a nova!
