If you do get tuition make sure its one on one, thats something i regret not doing i first learned some of the basics in a group lesson situation and now know it was crap lol

i stooped for while after that, then bought some books and started to teach my self.

Well i have a few guitars...

Epiphone SG Les Paul custom (then i customized it more)
This pic's from a gig in Leicester when i was in my last band (currently forming a new one)

My 1980 Fender Bullet (rare guitars)

Then my first electric, a Epiphone Les Paul special (now in bits as im "customising it"),and my Yamham FG411S Acustic.

And last but not least my Gretsch electromatic with my Marshall mgdfx250 amp

Im also making a guitar from scratch with all custom/new parts etc.

Im thinking of fitting a solid tail though as i don't use the vibro and its gay as it de-tunes allot with it.
EDIT: that pic of me's well funny i look constipated! i had a habit of pulling some ****ed up face's lol

Mine '85 (i think) Fender Strat Squire Silver Series - dont play any more tho :( no time.

Dad's been playing in bands since he was 13 and building guitars since 17, I'll get some picks up of them including the very special 'Ashley' :D

Scott is your SG Custom that old english cream colour? Dad bought one years ago but it was painted with emulsion  So he stripped it and sent it to the paintshop... where it was stolen :( I've always wanted a cherry red one.

i'm also self taught, been playing for about 6 years.

from my earlier days in rock bands:

epiphone les paul custom 50th anniversaty edition
and early epiphone sg:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/probert_nova/guitar/10122007264.jpg

les paul has its history on the back

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/probert_nova/guitar/10122007266.jpg

and the valvestate 100 marshall amp

tastes have mellowed and so these don't get much use anymore.
started writing/singing folk last year so now use these:

takamine g series elctro/acoustic and martin acoustic

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/probert_nova/guitar/10122007269.jpg

in a band at the moment, other members don't like folk so we have a similar style to
goo goo dolls with acoustic and electric leads. just waiting on replacement cd/rw
for my recording desk else i'd post some demos up.

I'm still and SG and Tele man. I do fancy getting another at some point, I'm just not sure what as yet. Love the Parker Nite fly's and the god old faithful Les Pauls.

Recently though I've been playing far more piano than guitar.

Dude there well smart, wouldnt mind a new accustic, electro/accustic, but i just cant make up my mind what i would buy, i have had a thing for 12 string for a while now after i saw Noel play one on Jools holland show.

I do love a 12 string, I've been promising myself one as soon as I have some free cash. Really I want a Martin 12. I used to play the display one when I worked at the Rock House.

BTW, where was the gig at? Looks like the ceiling of the Musician on Clyde Street.

Ah I knew that as O'Shea's, used to do a lot of Irish folk back in the day.

Never got the hang of a guitar. But give me a piano and I'm well away. Although I don't play it much as it was too heavy to bring to uni. lol
