So the ecu light comes on when it starts to cut out?
As it will come on if it just dies.... Thats normal, just like when turning the ign on.

It could be the dizzy sensor dying/plug shaking loose, or maybe the coil/module overheating(hence it does it when hot)
Or fuel pump relay.

Does it start straight up after it cuts out?

tbh mate your pissing in the wind here, you need to read the fault codes. I foyu cant do it, tak e video on your phone and post it up on here, someone will be able to tell you the code

Sounds like what happened to my GSi. Mystery problem.

It happened to my old spi too, would start missing when warm, and then just die, and not restart till you let it cool down.

ecu light comes on a minute or 2 after you start from cold, it will tick over for a while but is very lumpy, then gets fully warm will cut out and if you start it bk up will only tickover with the aid of your accelerater....

doubt its fuel pump relay as it will start straight bk up....
so try swapin the coil?? plugs defo arnt loose....

thanks for your help:thumb:

Check the plug gap(s). How old are rotor arm & dizzy cap?

Is the AFM to TB hose a total seal? (no holes)

Can you try a spare AFM? (know anybody with 1)

CHECK THE FECKING CODES!

A monkey could do it. With no arms and a blindfold.

No they'd not throw up codes. My GSi through a wobbly/hot running prob for a while which I traced to poor fitting leads, large plug gap issues.

it was in it when i got it, i changed the plugs and it made no difference??

il check the rotor arm/coil/leads 2morrow.....

its a strange 1...

ok today i replaced the leads, 1 lookd dodgy, look at the ron plug, it was on 91 when it should be on 95 so i changed that around, car is now running better, it will tick over sometimes, still cutting out at times....

now the engine light comes on after 4500rpm lol
