hello, looking for some help on what gearbox/clutch i should buy..its for a nova rally car, 1400 8v.

i have heard of sccr etc? i take it that is straight cut, close ratio..

so what gearbox would be good in a rally car..i dont mind paying upto ?1500 for a decent box and clutch setup..

is there a box i can go out and buy that is ready to fit with a limited slip diff (what LSD is best, i have heard of 40%, 60%, 90% etc etc)?? if so please let me know what it is and a link or something to a website.

and now for the clucth, i will be wanting a competition clutch, so what is the one to go for?

cheers

Greg

Jesus christ.
Aged 15, and spending ?1500 on a gearbox?:eek: lollol

A standard CR box, with a decent clutch should be fine tbh.

what hp, does your clutch slip? what rpm does your clutch slip?

you might as well get a nova gte box (f13cr) then find an old astra mk1/2 1.2 estate. the diff in that is ridiculously low (like 4.5:1).
Then learn to use this first because a newbie should learn with a standard gearbox then think about upgrading

If your not careful someone is off to take you for a ride along with loads of your cash! I think you can also find 4.29 and 4.53 diffs in some of the combo vans and the like. Try local gearbox places as they normally have a load on the shelf. Ask for a F13 box with a 4.29 or 4.53 diff.

4.29 came in rare corsas.... (or in a gearbox i scrapped a little while ago lol)

An F13 Cr or F15 CR (although you dont have the FD choice as you do with an F10/13 item) with a nice 80% plate diff

Imho Dans gearbox in his FS thread would be good (if its not sold)
