I did :D

I got hold of this Vauxhall 'Pass the driving test' book, this edition was published in 1990. It's awsome :thumb:
There are Novas, mk2 & 3 Cavaliers, a couple of mk2 Astras (including a Belmont) and even a cute lil Mk1 Astra with an Irmscher twin headlight grill by the side of the road...

REMEMBER- These braking distances only apply to cars with brakes. In a Nova, they could triple.

I learnt in a mk3 escort with a bad dual control kit. the throttle stiffened about 1/4 of the way down. the instructor was ace, she used to rally mk2 escorts in the BRC & she would let me do 80 on A roads, so I would know how to when i passed.
20mins after passing, I did 100(indicated so probably much slower) down a big hill in a b reg 1.2 merit.

I learnt in a Ka :( crap car, but ace for a learner as its so easy to drive.

I remember one of the other driving instructors when I was learning having a Nova. Oh how everyone laughed at the poor unfortunate soul who had to learn in that "heap of sh!t" lol Even back then everyone thought Novas were turds :D

My sister also learnt in a Ka (same one as me!) a few years prior to me; but her first car was a B reg nova swing. Which she hated. Then "upgraded" to a J reg merit, which I bought off her (and promptly fcuked right up).

I voted burgo. Cos theres no inbetween.

As I learnt in a Corsa B which is technically a Nova. The car was that bad I went on to buy 3, then a B.

I learned to drive in a Diesel Peugeot 205.

My instructor used to like me racing other cars off of the lights. At the time I thought it was great but I bet it was just to make me pull away from the lights at a decent pace rather than at 'learner' speed.

i learnt in a corsa, it was sh!t, so my driving instructor swapped it for a fiesta....................which was even worse!

that yellow sr looks nice, a shame to waste it on learners!

I took lessons in a 1.4 306, but dad took me out to practise parallel and bay parking in the Volvo 740 turbo estate in a 'private' car park before I had my licence. Mum took me out in the 5 door which I went on to own and I gave it death on those lessons. Also was able to sample a mk2 Golf GTi on an airfield and learnt how to launch it up to 4th using all the revs...
