I dont cheat, but its painfully obvious when people come on saying "how do I mod this but not have it detectable" that they are eitehr cheating in a race series or are cheating insurance.

What do the series rules allow you to do to the engines?

can the text typing....

no I dont race, too much effort in my book.

I'm sure you can search and find some mods to do to the 1.4/1.6 engine that you can get away without insuring...... I for one wont indicate any to you though.

i will insure them but want my car to look stanard i.e no big intercoolers or turbos as this looks boyracer and i have been there and done that!!!!

Headwork, cams, management, ARP's. Would seem invisible when looking in the engine bay, but obviously need to be declared to your insurance and/or racing governing body.

Going further, add some throttle bodies, or a turbo kit. Intercoolers can be concealed pretty well when you sit down and think about it.

Going further still, a good rebuild, de-seamed shot peened rods etc.. and nitrous oxide. As far as I'm aware, nitrous oxide is illegal to use on public roads in the UK though.

to keep it basic get rid of the restrictive inlet design and get a mantzel/lexmal/dbilas inlet system, 4-2-1 manifold, cams, arp rod bolts and a remap.

as above mate, the inlet design on the 1.4/1.6 XE's is very restrictive and you should see considerable gains by fitting an aftermarket system.
