Its up to you, 16v has more power but 8v novas arent as common and power delivery is diffrent, personally im not interested too much in presentation etc..

But theres a few of mine here: http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86629&page=3

And im not sure why you'd want to change engines for the sake of it looking better, but its your car.

theres something about popping a Nova bonnet, and seeing an XE in there. They just look so at home, and right now. lol 8V's look lost. I see where youre coming from!

You can always get the engine chromed, there was a nice 1600 8v on mig which looked immaculate, also stuff like colour coded hoses, or just get bits polished :thumb:

Looks ok to me, why not get the block either painted, polised or chromed, and the inlet, would look sweet

Try migweb, theres loads of cavs on there, not many people put the SEH's in novas.

Just take bits off & clean them!
Hide wires etc.

Most people choose an XE because of the rocker cover being so sexy.

Did you know Irmscher make a 16v look false cover for the 8v's?

does the fake cover look any good
the 16v rocker does look sexy in any form paint/polish/chrome even clean standard and so does the belt cover

Its a rubber cover that goes over the std 8v rocker cover & looks nothing like an XE tbh.

Yeah I bet they are expensive, for what they are.

Heres the 2.0 8v Astra GTE engine my GF has just sold.

Pretty clean. Just needs a powder coated inlet plenum IMO.

(& a Nova wouldnt have 1/2 the random wires in the way)

Personal preferance isnt it really 16v look amazing but your rarely see an 8v nova these days thats more than a 1600cc
