Anyone know this car? Do you think a GSI is worth that now?

It does look in stunning condition. Just wondering does anyone know the car before it went across the water?

For that kinda price, regardless as how spotless or not it is, i wouldnt buy it no way never.

Nearly ?4k for a standard Nova....jog on....

?5k will secure you a high power Jap import of a DC2 Teg, Impreza, UK Evo etc etc

Adam

Price is a tad steep, and its done 74K!

SRimon
02-12-07, 07:14 PM
Probably worth 3 if it is that clean

Jack
02-12-07, 07:26 PM
Aye, that money could get you a whole lot of "better" car. Lest we forget, the standard Nova isn't a particularly great car.

SRimon
02-12-07, 07:33 PM
But in Nova value rather than comparing to other cars its gotta be valued at similar to mark's old GSi? looks about as good?

Its exactley what i'd be after, but not at the money he's asking

novacabrio
02-12-07, 07:36 PM
I wouldnt say it was way over the top, people need to look past the ?100-1000 scrap cars and look at the quality. Id say its 3k tops mine was sold for that type of money but also had a B+ head, 4 pots, fortunes worth of stereo and loads of history

NovaLad
02-12-07, 07:47 PM
That is pretty mint though ... look how clean the interior is for example looks brand new.

RJM25R
02-12-07, 07:50 PM
iF THAT'S WORTH ?3650, i SHOULD HAVE SOLD K95 FOR AT LEAST ?5500

NovaLad

You should...

Your car was a beaut. :)

?2k max, as clean as it, he's just trying it on asking that price.

And why has it got a mk1 speedo?

vaughanmc

Looks feckin mint but not worth that money

As Mark says - Nearer ?3k...

SRimon

At 2k ill have two! Worth 3k all day long imo, but just not 3650. like mark said, his was as clean but with a lot more nice mod's!

They're standard Nova GSi dials, dunno where you got mk1 from?

vaughanmc
02-12-07, 09:47 PM
Mk1 SR/GTE clocks are the same style as those...

SRimon
02-12-07, 09:48 PM
The speedo is, the rev counter isn't....

Had to have a 2nd look there - I stand/sit corrected :)

Mk2 clocks with mk1 speedo, 100% sure on that :thumb:

SRimon

Mk2 clocks with mk1 speedo, 100% sure on that :thumb:

Both the same....speedo's never changed afaik apart from the early mk1 clocks and the white ring SR dials

Steve
02-12-07, 10:09 PM
Didnt the mk2 have the extra ring round the numbers like they have on the rev counter?

I know this is getting a bit sad but im sure they're different!

SRimon
02-12-07, 10:18 PM
Maybe, lol actually more I think about it, probably right

It says it had a speedo change, put the wrong one in by the looks of it waha

I would say to some one thats well worth ?3000, hence the asking price so it can drop.

mint looking gsi but not worth that kind of money.

cheeky pricing.. the owner might as well try, - we'd be suprised, some people out there think more of a tidy, genuine nova (which is rarer) then just another jap performance car.. Anyways, nova is way more frugile and carrys plenty of kudos in that condition..
me? ide wait abit / offer quite a bit less than that.. Bit mad for him to advertise around xmas time..

Bearing in mind everyone asks more for a car than they are prepared to accept, its likely a reluctant sale too.

I think ?3000 is a fair price if someone wants a genuine example bad enough.

Personally I think it looks pretty stunning tbh. However std GSi's are pretty miserable cars & it'd need suspension, brakes & engine work to make it a sensible buy over something quicker & far more fun like a Saxo VTS for example. (though much cooler)

over priced !!! for the spec that it is maybe if it was a valver ???

dannyb
03-12-07, 10:59 AM
PRICED @ ?3650 OVNO --- NO TIME WASTERS OR SILLY TEXTERS
(alloys and springs were ?1000 )

You can't really justify that cost just because those items cost a grand though. I'm sure they cost that, but it doesn't add a grand to the value of the car!

The fact that the car hasn't really been modified would make it more valuable to me, half and hour and it would be back to standard!!

You just have to look at the way Fiesta XR2's are going up in price, over here you would be lucky to get a good clean STANDARD mark 1 for 3k, and they are creeping up all the time!! I don't ever think a Nova (or any Vauxhall for that matter) will ever have the following that a Ford will have, but it stands to reason that they will creep up in value, especially the "standard" ones as they are so hard to come by!
I know if someone offered me that money for mine I wouldn't take it, because I would find it very very difficult to find another one as good! But then mine isn't for sale and can't see it ever being sold!!!

not worth that at all, is it just me or is there a scuff on passenger side front corner of the bumper? also back bumper fits funny near the wheel arch. no way its worth that!

03-12-07, 03:00 PM
lads novas are creepin up in value all the time, granted its not worth that money but in a few years that will be the goin rate for a mint gsi, that is a collecters item....

theres any amount of evos/imprezas etc but thats not the point, there is a very small amount of mint gsi around so there gona go up in price....
id pay 3k for a minter but it would need more spec...

stuartyj21
03-12-07, 03:21 PM
i agree the price is abit 2 much but god loves a tryerlol
if they were to get 3k for it that would be a fair price, looking a the photos i think the front and back bumpers sit funny they just dont look rite:wtf:

if thats worth 3650 then lots of peoples novas on here must be valued at 5k or more, mine included:thumb:

BRoadGhost
03-12-07, 03:24 PM
It's worth what someone will pay.

Imo it's worth the money - but only you're into the life style it's already had.

Throw in a few shows & could be enjoyable.

Not for me thou ;D

A heave or tug on the bumpers would have them sitting straight.

Tbh I'd sooner see a couple scuffs which would indicate the car is original & honest as opposed to numerous patches of newly blended paint etc.

I still think its worth ?3k to someone that wants it badly enough.

krobinson
03-12-07, 07:42 PM
I agree with Craig, the scuff's show its a genuine car.

I'd actually love that, i'd sell my GTE rep and save a little to buy it if I had another garage to store it in.

I just hope whoever buys it looks after it, and also shows it!

Does look F(_)king mint thou but the price tag is enuff to throw anyone off it

wilson_sri
03-12-07, 10:26 PM
That is absolutly stunning, dont think i would be willing to pay that much yet. But i think its getting closer to the time when people will pay out that much for such a mint original example.

You need to host pictures online before linking to them, in somewhere like photobucket
