general, when it has really slashed it down try the ford at sheepy magna.

go thru the village then turn right at the cross hands. the green lane is on the right (on the map it is the one with red dots & goes thru to the b585.)
it is the one where the very rich lady using her satnav stuck the posh merc in & it floated away

the above link show the flooding between mountsorrel & sileby
our firm was working 2 different building jobs (one in each village) & we were going thru the floods six times a day. I use a double cab L200 trojan (old style) & it was halfway up the doors. the local offroaders were making a fortune towing dead vehicles out.
I had to fetch a 360 excavator out & the lowloader was completely submerged. I was too busy driving the tractor to take photo.
it was a laugh though. we really did see a woman climb out of a renault that was full of water (think top gear) there were 44t lorries going thru to a factory. one stopped, sucked water in & died.

4x4's Rock! I towed a 4 ton camper van out of a muddy field on the weekend. Sideways at first:cool: Great fun! I can't wait for a really bad winter, I will trawl the lanes looking for people in hedges:thumb:
You really need a pickup for the full experience
I take a truck full out on boxing day to watch the atherstone hunt try not to catch anything, we chuck a couple of straw bales in the back & head off into the wilds.
