right ive just got a new laptop, when ive rang up post office internet as i can get a good deal with them with working for them
anyway as my phone line is a cable they are saying i cant use an internet provider other than cable ie NTL
is this the case
any help would e great
a phone line is a phone line i dont think it makes a differance
some providers do only work with bt lines damien , unsure if the post office is one of them though
Erm you should beable to have either.... In my current house we were about to get a Bt-line orientated internet but ended up going for Virgin Cable.
Depends really. If there is not a physical BT compatable cable in the house then you'll have to have one installed. That may well be your problem.
When I moved in to my current place it had been Telewest for 8 years, so I had to have a new cable run into the house to use anyone other than NTL / Virgin Media.
All providers other than Virgin use a BT line so to go to the post office like you say you'll have to get a BT line fitted.
Prob easier staying with virgin tbh , ive had no hassle here.
