ive got a gmax 60mm kit on the nova, ive recently put all new tyres on all round, problem is is that the back has settled fine, but the front still looks super high compared to the old wheels, and no matter how hard you drive it etc to settle it it just doesnt go any lower

any ideas?

did you have the suspension on before you changed the tyres?

Was the car ok before you put the tyres on?

Taking the wheels off and putting them back on shouldn't affect how the suspension sits... Although it is only cheapo gmax stuff, so meh lol

yeah the car was fine, could it be the sidewalls are thinner than my old ones?

Erm... yes. LOL

I'm assuming you changed tyre size then... thats your answer.

Yeah, a lower profile will mean a larger gap between arch and tyre.

Get some side on pics up of the ride height.

Oh and usually 2nd hand springs dont have to "settle" ive found. They sit at the height they stay at within about 10mins of fitting them.

When mine was a 1.2 the -60 springs on the front never looked that great.

After having the 1600 engine fitted, it seems to sit perfectly.

The only thing i can put it down to is the added extra weight, and the fact that the only pictures i'd been "aspiring" towards are 1600 Gsi/GTE

this settling business has got me confused.......

on every set of springs I have ever fitted, I have never encountered settling over a matter of minutes/days/weeks. yes, over months & years....

If a wheel is removed, then replaced, the spring will sit the same. simply taking the weight off then putting it back on can't have much of an effect or every decent bump or bridge you go over will alter the ride height.

Is this not because your engine has the weight and power of a packet of crisps, and hence is not pressing the front down as much as a proper or big-proper engine would?

Really? I have... I've always found the car sits wonky if I've just let it back down after being jacked up and needs to be moved about to make everything sit back in place properly.

Over years springs do just get slack and collapse a bit though, I know a chap who bought some -25mm TRD springs for his GT4 and after fitting them found the car sat about 5mm higher lol
