Changing it tomorrow as it has a leak and just wondering what is a good joining compound to use? How much?

I alway use the vauxhall grey cement sealer, leave it to set for 24 hrs though before using the car, and use it sparingly. It's used to glue sumps on that have no gaskets. I used it on my xe and it's leak free.

do you know how much matey? also do you use it on both sides of the gasket?

yeah use it on both sides, iirc it should be on trade club at about 4 quid.

Tool station do a high temp, oil resistant sealer in mastic gun size (big) for about ?2.60 IIRC. It did my XE sump nicely & you'll be left over with plenty.

Tip is to use the sealer but dont fill with oil or use (obviously) for 24hrs so it cures, be carefull it doesnt ooze into the engine side of the sump.

Do you have a part number for this as ive just rang vauxhall and they couldnt find it on their system?

/\/\ cheers mate, im not in that much of a rush just want it doin asap because when drivin im paranoid about it running out of oil lol, just rung them and they said it ?9.17 so i'll get it so i can use it on the 2L aswell :thumb:
