View Full Version : Gsi idle problem
Hi got a gsi but it idles either too low or too high, and i can not sort the problem. I had the ecu scanned and the only fault was the (RON) plug.
(The black or brown plug that has 95 on one side and 91 on the other).
Went to my local vauxhall dealer and they could only supply me a plug for a corsa B.
Problem still not solved.
Can anyone please help me???

hi i had the same problem with my gsi.
when it was in idle it was jumping from 2000 rpm to 600 and back again.
it was the sensor on the inlet manifold idle control sensor.
try that :thumb:
ok great where can i get one of those sensors from and how much are they ?

Is this the E16SE or C16SE catted type engine?
(E16) Try cleaning the ICV (bolted behind cam housing)

my e16se was doing it, we just disconnected the idle control valve or what ever its called now it just sits at the lowest possible rev instead of idleing(sp?) not orthodox but solves the problem ?

mine did this, turned out to be weak earth straps.
battery terminal to bulk head and gearbox to chassis

i think vauxhall still supply the sensor its 60 quid
which sensor is it? there is one the back of the inlet manifold near the throttle body or is it the one by the far left injector?

hi steve
yes it is the 1 at the throttlebody. there are 2 small screws just undo them.
then the sensor should move up and down thats how you adjust it:thumb:
