Oh my god, The General has bought the Mr blobbyland gear from Noel Edmonds............. Atherstone doesn't need a theme park!!! Just imagine the dozens of extra cars, the roads won't cope. You've already got the most dangerous sport in England (that crazy football brawl type game) Know your towns limits.

Did they ever fit the christmas lights? after being on exposed on watchdog. The council had fitted cctv & the lights would have been in the way so they were the only town in britain without any.....

nar we got some in the main street :)
I miss the old Atherstone, with 2 way traffic & all those shops it was so much better.....
It was also in the Guinness Book of records because it had the highest concentration of pubs in britain.
The council spent so long doing the improvements that most of the businesses were force to shut. The Happy Gathering chinese takeaway was hilarious. there was always a fight going on outside. I once saw a bloke in a cortina 4rsend a restored beetle right outside & shove it out of the way so he could park. Now I only go to atherstone for the New Years day (not) Fox Hunt meet.
