Mk2 gsi when i 1st bought it back in jan 07, looks sweet but further inspection of the doors, drivers side rear arch and bits in the engine bay were rusted quite badly.

I was swiftly pulled over after about 2 days for having illegal number plates, explained that they came with the car and was waiting on the log book, but was still fined ?30. police are gits.

new drivers side rear arch welded on looked good from a far but up close looked like a big pile of ****

my mate then gave me a bad boy bonnet, put it on and it just looked odd the bad boy was made from fibre glass which i wasnt to happy about but left it on there because i couldnt be ****d to take it off.

i was unfortunately hit up the **** buy a merc which killed the back bumper and the boot, got an ok settlement which paid for a K&N 4 branch manifold and a head unit i was saving up for. my friend then wrote his nova off so along came the chance to get sum bits, e.g the back bumper, the bootlid, and badboy bonnet all for 15quid.

mesh and splitter has been taken off on the bumper as i had side exit exhausts put on.looks **** i know..

better bad boy professionally done, and loads of grease on the bumper as the gearbox went and my friend fitted a new one for me but he doesnt clean very well..

body work is currently being prepped and smoothed for a respray

smoothed properly this time.. more pics to come over the next two weeks.....

im not much for kits but what the hey it's your car so style it your way would be nice to see a uk car done different and done well, the bootlid looks like it's been done well but please do'nt use the scoop if you gonna have bonnet vents
try find somthing different the scooby scoop has been done to hell and is pure ugly imo, vents that stick off the bonnet do not suit nova's
but stick at it take your time and get it right 1st time good luck with it bud
will be watching this one

Clean 2.0 nova

looks like a good way to de-value a nova by spending money on it. Why start with a GSI body and turn it into turd. My opinion, thats all.

I am assuming you are quite young and are of the mind that modding anything must make it better. But to us 'old-timers' theres nothing better than seeing a GSI looking like its just rolled of the production line. You are also much less likely to be accused of been a boy racer and gain much better title of 'enthusiast'.

how long after you have the car resprayed will you hate the bonnet scoop
and have to pay for another 1 to be painted not cheaper in the long run
plus it really does look crap with the scooby scoop sorry but i could'nt live with scoops on the bonnet get another bonnet cut the bad boy lip off and weld it on a standard bonnet or it would prob cost about ?30/40 at a body shop if you were near me i would do it for nowt as long as you promised never to think of using a scooby scoop
it WILL!!! destroy the look of the car:(

well said.the last thing you prob want is people leaving negative comments after all your hard work, but all ill say is i wish you'd have started with a base model nova instead of doing all that to a straight looking gsi, which would have actually been worth more money as it was then it is now

put it back 2 standard i hope you kept all the bits. dont get me wrong i fink its good what you are doing and if you like it then great, but not to a gsi mate. (only my opinion) good luck

Don't like it at all. I'm sure you will see the error of your ways sometime. But a Standard tailgate, bumper, exhaust to the rear and a standard bonnet and it would look good. The colour/paintwork isnt the problem, its all the bolt on crud.

Looks awful, rear bumper doesn't match the front, smooth tailgates look **** on Nova's as well.

Not even going to mention the bonnet!!
