 need some help please i have got a 1.0 nova just replaced plugs and points the last person who had it had trouble with coil over heating so any way put new coil on and she ran like a dream untill it over heated, when i looked at the wireing i saw there was a 12v feed to the coil and need to know if they are 12v or 9v as asked a few people and they have said there is a resitor in the loom but as it has been cut and no trace of the wire i cant see why the coil whould over heat any help any one and sorry for the spelling thanks corsaslammin.:thumb:

the std nova 1.0 actually has a 6v coil. the resistor is actually a resistive wire that runs from the ign switch to the coil. it is easily identified, it has a clear outer coating. if that wire has been removed, and a 12v feed fitted to the coil, it will melt it quickly. if the resistor has failed, then it can be replaced by using a ballast resistor & normal wire.

try to keep it as standard as poss. it will be much more reliable
