Whats the plan then you going to make it look like it use to, novadose kit white seat wheels?

Sloth
18-11-07, 10:45 PM
hmm future plans.... a let would be nice but as it was originally on carbs a nice set of r1 carbs would be good. and the bay isnt photoshopped, i just have a cleaning fetish! oh and a big tin of hammerite smooth red spray:)
the bumpers are sort of wrong as they are mk1 gte ones on a mk2, but as the car is f reg then meh! i desperately need some red buckets, and an early cam cover too. the outsie is sorta my homage to the old skool cars that have gone to the big scrappy in the sky. ie classic, clean gm stuff. id love the original wheels but the novadose kit is big baggy pants!

Not a fan of kits myself but thought the bumper worked well on this originally.

Sloth

its a love it or hate it thing with the bumper tbh, and the car that is sorta inspiring this is the green courtenay turbo as it originally was. ( i forgot the reg, duh!)

why have you an intercooler and an XE? or have i missed something?

Sloth

the reaon for the intercooler is that i am sorta working on a turbo conversion for it using a toyota supra turbocharger and some saab injectors. its still in its infancy tho. and im looking at building an 2.0 8v turbo nova 4dr saloon, with about 400ish brake using a truck turbo, a set of let pistons and some more saab bits. im also building a corsa c with a saab c25xe v6 and an f23 box. hmm, i think ive found a use for saabs!!lol i wanted to know wether to hide the cooler or not, thats all.

Cool to see a car with some heritage being resurrected. Personally, although back in the day I disliked the Fibresports Novadose bumpers, I think you should try to make it back to what it was in the mag feature (my pic btw).

So long as its all well painted & the wheels suit it, the Novadose kit can look good & the Novadose skirts are best avoided I think.

Up to you anyway, but that is an old skool Nova thats emerged from obscurity. Keep at it.

Dave.

I like the white rims. Looks tidy.

I wouldn't be mounting harnesses on that rear brace though.

why not on the strutbrace? iirc rally cars use this method.

Rally cars have a harness bar welded to the roll cage. That strut brace is held in place with to 13mm(?) nuts on top of the suspension... It's not exactly structal and I wouldn't put a lot of faith in it in a crash.

Sloth

fair but i've seen alot of them done like this.... oh well.

Adam
15-02-08, 11:58 PM
Yep, as Ash said.
Look at whats holding basically your life.....
Two 13mm nuts on the top of a damper, mounted with RUBBER bushes.

Rally cars have a proper bar welded to a cage, or across the rear turrets.

Its Great to see the old feature cars live on. I was featured with my Red SR back in Sep 1995 Fast car reg J250 DYJ, I would love to know where he is now.

See the wheels from the 1st magazine scan - Are those Mistrals with different centre caps or are they the Speedline Mono wheels ?

I seen a set of Mono's forsale in an old Car & Car Conversions magazine and they look awsome

Mistrals, i remember ordering a set from Elite they never came so i fitted tsw hockehiems (version 1) instead.
