is it possible just to insure a car for a day/week just to pick it up from a seller?

ahh, well thats a kick in the c**t, i need 2 insure a let nova for only a day to pick it up, 'cos its going straight in the garage when i get home, and wont get insured again untill january when my current policy runs out

AA do older cars, can't remember who the underwriter is off the top of my head.
