So true. Mk2 Novas have far better build quality on the inside IMO.
Welcome to our lovely site btw.

Mk1 novas are built with better rust!
However i think there is some truth in this, the 2 out of the 3 mk1s ive had were structurely free from rot, however all the mk2s i have had, had some sort of rot somewhere!

well mine is a mk1 so hopefully no rust will come through, as there is no rust on it at all now

That is a 'bit' of rot.
My B reg 1.2 had rot about 3 or 4 inches up the sides of the rear wheel arches. Scabs all along the bottoms of the doors & the fr chassis legs were shot, the sills were like a patchwork quilt & the boot floor equally so. MINTER!
baxter may well be right for once lol....
when I was building my MK1 it was a relative breeze to weld compared to trying to weld on a MK2 which just kept blowig holes/finding nasty patches of steel etc.
both can rot equally as badly, but when It comes to repairing, I'd certainly prefer to repair a MK1.
