does anyone know if i can blank off the egr valve, if i can will it make any difference to the engine.
also, i will be changing the crankshaft pulley to a single v belt bulley and i noticed there is a sensor on the old one, when i change to the single v belt pulley do i cut the sensor off or what
thanks
sorry forgot to say the sensor on the pulley is like a pick up sensor something like the the workings of an abs sensor

That sensor on the pulley is the crank position sensor, you need that.

but how will it work with single pulley

you need a V pully with the sensor bits on, 1.4sri one i think!

ah crap, thats goin to be hard to find. if i was to leave it he way it is, would the pulley be hitting off the chassis leg the whole time

No the wide belt clears the chassis leg(just). You dont touch the crank sensor when removing the pully anyway.
You need a toothed single v pully, quite a few vauxhalls have them. Corsas etc.
Yes you can block the egr, no gain tho, just you wont get egr problems.

i wil just fit it the way it is and keep a look out for one and do it at a later stage,

I replied about egr above. Mines blocked with 5mm alloy plate. You have to leave the valve plugged in.

You can get new bottom pulleys from Vauxhall for about ?19 IIRC.

There was a Mantzel on ebay this week.... or was that Corsasport???

would the EGR cheater as mentioned on z22se.co.uk work on the rest of the vauxhall range?

that way the ecu is happy and you can bin the valve completely

Should do/\
As long as they have the same egr valve.
