hey guys, just starting to take my nova gte engine apart for a rufurb and noticing the throttle postion sensor wasnt connected.but had a loop of wire in the connector to complete the circuit...

so discussing it with the master mechanic at work he said the only reason he can think to do this is to adjust the distributor and forgot to reconnect it.he mentioned that the engines timing and throttle response woudnt be there and the engine would run like poo.
having driven the car for bout 3months, i hadnt noticed anything really wrong with it.

can any body shed any light on this??

hopefully next year when its back on the road the car should perform alot better if any better.

cheers

IIRC, the GTE throttle position sensor has 3 settings: Closed, Open, Fully Open (Foot to the floor)

If it was faulty, they could have shorted it to read open so car would run, if they were a chav they could have set it to Fully Open coupled with an 'In car adjustable +20 bhp controller' lol for MASSIVE real power increases.

Might be completely wrong as I haven't looked at the GTE for a long time

HTH:)
