Wasp man's spade shock
DIY man Dan Grifiths was knocked over with a spade by a friend who thought he was being electrocuted.
In fact he was trying to get rid of a wasp in his trouser leg.
Dan 27, had smashed his pickaxe into the ground and started shaking and flapping his arms as the pair dug foundations for a conservatory at Dan's home.
Friend Matt Locking, 26, thought he had dug through the mains. "All I could think of was getting him clear of the current. I whacked him in the chest with the flat bit of the spade."
"I didn't know if he was dead or alive when he hit the ground. I was so relieved when he got up. But instead of thanking me, he pushed me away and swore at me."
Dan, of Roundhay, Leeds, said: "At least I didnt get stung."
