Right, finally got round to fitting the new speedo cable after the old one snapped. Everything seemed to be in order until after a few minutes of driving the alternator light came on, came to the end of my journey and after having the lights and stereo on for a good 40 minutes, the car started first time again withno hesitation, so i'm assuming the battery is getting charged at least a bit. But why the light? Maybe knocked something when taking the dash pod out for cable fitting? seemed to have lost one of the instrument panel lamps which is annoying, can't see how fast i'm going in the dark now!

Aaaaaand, when coming to a stop mid journey it tries to cut out. Seems to be trying to idle at about 600rpm but it can't and keeps fluctuating and falling over and over.

Could all this have stemed from doing something by accident whilst fitting speedo cable? It's a pain when you fix one thing and a load more problems arise...
