Nova TD Help?!

New to this forum, having a slight problem with my Nova.

Its a 1.5TD Izuzu engine.

Hope u guys can help.

Went to start it this morning and whilst cranking it over, it just died on me. Ignition lights are stuck on (even without the key in it) and wont even bump start.

Any ideas, Much appreciated:)

Nope, no smell of burning. i have had a look at the ignition and everything seems fine.

for the ignition lights to be stuck on it must be a short somewhere so all you can really do is check all the wiring

cheers mate, will have 2 check all wiring tomorrow. This problem has caused the battery 2 go flat.

Wudnt b anything 2 do wid alternator wud it?

Ignition switch is fcuked, and stuck in the ignition on position.

ive got a scrap corsa 1.5TD.

Possibly, go check.......
Make sure they have the same number of terminals.

That definently sounds like your problem tho.
I dont see how a bad earth can cause the dash etc etc to be live, when it can only be live when the ignition is turned on.

haha i knew sum1 would say that. No my hazard switch is ****ed anyway, thus meaning indicators dnt work at the mo. It sucks. Tomorrow the nova will be puffing out smoke againlol

But how would the ignition live wire at the dash become live?
With the switch turned off.

The ignition wire would need to be shorting out on a live wire, and getting 12v from somewhere would it not?

Sounds exactly the same as when my earths broke down on my TD.

The g/box to chassis earth came way in my hands (turned to dust) replaced that & all was good.

Run a jump lead from battery -ve terminal to engine block.
