Just got a price for a new 1.4SR distrubitor, and it got me thinking. For not much more I could have aftermarket 'performance' parts, so I dug out an MSD ignitions catalog and I'm non the wiser lol

What is the best way of creating a spark for my 'lil 1.6? Convert to dispack and mapable? Or just uprated coil/dizzy? I know the 1.4SR dizzy is tryed and tested but surely theres a better way/more accurate way?

Cheers in advance

mappable ign would be the best. but youve got the cost of the unit and then the mapping..

Mega jolt. Shouldnt cost too much to have it mapped I shouldnt have thought?

Far better than medieval dizzy method.

Someone I know, that knows feck all about cars laughed at my distributor.

megajolt is merd (imho)

Id rather build a Megasquirt with a VR crank sensor input and the Dodge Neon IGN seup for the coilpack. Atleast its using mostly GM parts and also capable of running injection if you fancy later (TB's etc)

Merd? Lol
MJ is an option, but add to the cost (?100), a ford edis system, having to custom mount a crank sensor wheel etc.
