i am just wondering if my nova will be ok as i parked outside my garage last night with no antifreeze in it.may seem like a silly question but it has been in a garage for years and then last night i was out a blast and left it out..its pretty cold up here in scotland.
so tonight i will be putting antifreeze in and hoping it is ok..
Greg
you MUST MUST MUST put antifreeze in, use GM long life stuff its cheap and does the job. A twunt aquantance of mine put water in his XE and one evening it got colder than expected and cracked the block lol
Yup, if the water has already frozen then it will have probably already damaged the engine.
Just hope that the temperature didn't drop enough for it to freeze.

how much anti freeze do i put in it?
I generaly go 50/50 on the mix. But others may differ
I doubt it got cold enough last night freeze coolant in the engine internals.
Check see if its froze in the expansion tank....
If not, its probably fine.
A 33% anti freeze mix i normally use, but 50/50 is fine too.
hey, what type of anti freeze shall i get, is there different types??
as i need to put some in now seeing as it is getting colder
many thanks

I *think* anti freeze is anti freeze.
lol anyone else, because i dont wanna get it wrong and then bugger up my engine trying not to bugger it up lol
ok just checked halfrauds
got this:
Vehicle manufacturer approved
Latest technology formulation
Specified factory fill for modern vehicles
Improved performance for older engines hahaha
Enhanced corrosion inhibitor package
Prevents freezing down to -69 centigrade
Protects against boil-over to 150 centigrade
Uses Organic Acid Technology (OAT)
hope this one is fine, its the advanced stuff, will ask someone in halfords if they are wrong then they can pay for my car lol
