The car (F plate 1.2) currently has astra gsi 15s on with 195/50 tyres - but they rub the plastic shock guards on the rear (is this right? as I hear a lot of people running this size without trouble?)....

Do I:

Get some 185/50 rubber and hope that stops the rubbing?

Replace the alloys?

Get some steelies (as wide as poss) and then think about going low?

You need 195/45's. If there's clearance on the outer arch you could try using spacers, but its going to be close!

Got similar problem with mine. Using 195/45/15's on mine and 60mm drop. They rub on the inner arch under load. Put 5mm spacers on and now they catch on outer arch lip. Turned spacer down to 2.5 mm but still catch. Now fitting stiffer shocks to reduce the amount it drops when i boot it.gmax shocks for you!lol
