what do people think are the best ones to get? standard vx gsi ones or some aftermarket ones?
and once you have them how easy are they to fit? bodyshop job?

OEM GM items would be my choice. Aftermarket ones tend to be fibreglass which I'd be too concerned about cracking or fitment. The original ones, being plastic, offer a little more flexibility.

The qaud conversion items are pretty cool, made from plastic and cost about ?90 too

hmm not bad.... how about fitment? guess thats the main concern, and if its bodyshop job then also most expense.

GSI skirts are easy to fit.

You'll need a set of clips (still available from Vaux), a rivet gun, rivets and a drill.

It sounds scary but if you take your time its easy.
I found the most accurate way was to measure the studs on a GTE/GSI and then transfer the measurements to your car.

iv got novadose ones and GSi ones, id chose GSi ones everytime tho. i like the look of the novadose skirts but it means youve got to be careful with which bumpers u buy, but everyone knows that GSi are the only bumpers whcih suit novas, but will they suit novadose skirts? thats the problem.

just play it safe and get the GSi skirts :)

L33 LEG, those skirts on the blue Nova above are not Novadose skirts. I can't remember what skirts they are, I'm sure someone will know.

Novadose skirts can look good with GSi bumpers, but IMO you need to smooth the bumpers to some extent. Again, IMO I believe the Novadose skirts only work if they are smoothed into the bodylines of the car. This can be expensive as you really need to get a proffesional to do it to make sure the final finish is nice and smooth.

Yes, it's a ballache if you catch them, yes they are a ballache when it comes to jacking up the car, but from a styling point of view I like them. If I didn't I wouldn't have had them put on my car:

Blatantly well different.

I think the blue ones are Lecat side skirts or something equally as sad.

If you drill & rivet the GM ones on, dont forget to seal the holes in the sills with waxoyl or better still, drill one day & paint in the holes, then rivet another day.

Craig wins a biscuit, they are indeed Le Kat sideskirts.

Novadose IMO

Or possibly a Dietrich RS bumper

novadose is the only other bumper iv been thinking about, but surely itl mean that 15s wont be big enough? and then il have to get 17s. the car will be stripped out with a valver in by the way, so ideally want to keep with 15s to suit the theme better.

im sure a gsi will look alright, but until i see a pic of one with the skirts i wont be 100% convinced.

ooo that RS bumper looks gorgeous!

EDIT: i'm guessing matt's nova is in the making in that picture, but it has bump strips and flat skirts. looks good to me.

RS bumpers rock IMO.

The straight skirts look good with bump strips... even though I pulled mine off lol. If you fit the fins you'll need to cut either a notch out the fin (bad idea) or a notch out the bump strip... so you may as well tug them off ;)

Update coming soon on Project Aspirin.

Or possibly a Dietrich RS bumper

Looks good in that picture, but the front's a bit open for my liking (esp with nothing behind it)

Novadose sideskirts look the best imo, i havent had any problems with jacking the car up with mine, i agree that they do look best smoothed in to the body, especially with a smoothed gsi front bumper
