will a cavalier 1.6 spi engine and ecu fit straight into my nova 1.2i with the nova wiring harness or will i need the wiring loom as well any help appreciated cheers

Dude, a Cav SPi aint even worth the hassle!! Get a Nova GTE/GSi 1.6 MPi engine

lol, on spi engines the wiring for it is integral with the car loom, therefore wiring up an spi is actually three times as hard as wiring up an MPi.

And heed the advice mate; what your on about transplanting will cost the same in money and effort as fitting a 2.0 16v XE because that 1.6 cav lump weighs the same. Except the cav engine has about 80bhp..
