Hi all, Well I've been wanting to have one of these threads for a long time as I'm always on with something car related just never really got round to it so here goes! Before last years shows I made a big effort with the nova to make it as clean and as well spec'd as I could, When It came to billing last year I thought the car was starting to look really well...........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/billing49.jpg?t=1194193069
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/billing54.jpg?t=1194193107
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novains012.jpg?t=1194193182

But as we always do I still wanted to get it even cleaner and up the spec again were and when possible. A very well made new exhaust has been purchased and is awaiting fitting.........
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/myexhaust.jpg?t=1194193582

Also I have boxed up certain parts to send for either flocking, carbon, chroming I've just got to finish off the preparation on a few parts then I can send them all off.

With the nova now being off the road for winter I turned my attention to maybe getting a newer/ more fun car for a runaround as last year when the nova was off the road I spent my time running around in a mk3 astra 1.4 and as cheap as it was it was boring as hell!!! Below as some of you may have seen in general chat recently is what I purchased.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astraturbo002.jpg?t=1194194207
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/222c_4.jpg?t=1194194505

Its fairly well spec'd and running around 280bhp on eds phase 2, It's had a full engine rebuild around 5K ago, honed, crank ground oversized bearings, arp rod bolts, all new gaskets and seals, steel head gasket, recon head with all new valves. The block has also been cleaned and painted. The car also has large front mount intercooler, bailey dump valve, vxr injectors and courtney heat shield, xe inlet cam, magnicore ht leads, iridion plugs, etc. But as well as it goes the bodywork as genuine as it is did need some work.

So this week I decided to get cracking with it. I thought to begin with I'd do all the easier parts so the back end was stripped of rear bumper, lights, spoiler and mirror caps were also removed.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astraturbowip002.jpg?t=1194194719

And I stayed late monday night to get the following parts all prepared and painted....

After work Tuesday these were put back on the car and the front bumper was then removed and prepared for paint......

I spent quite a while on this trimming the centre out properly as It had only been roughly cut before for the front mount intercooler etc below is how it finished up.....

Wednesday after work was the job I was really dredding.... The bonnet and wings which were absolutely chipped to hell. I had to bare metal the first quarter of the bonnet and fill all the other chips futher back......

It seemed all vauxhalls are the same as these arch lips were very similar to novas as a few tiny spots had started so I just took the whole lip back to the metal. While on with the sides I thought I'd take the opportunity to colour code the door handles........

No I'm afraid I cant take credit for the awesome paint job on the nova unfortunatly, This was done by another guy who works with me in the same bodyshop he initially built my nova from a bare shell up just over two years ago, I just bought it back almost straight away after he finished and spent the last eighteen months trying to perfect it!

Thanks... I was going to paint the whole thing but there was no need as the roof and tailgate were unmarked and came up like new with a good polish etc. It would just been extra time that wasnt needed imo hence why I'm not doing them. Going to spend the time on the wheels etc next I think.

Thats all for now next update coming soon! Nick.

Hi All, After a busy week last week on the astras bodywork I decided to have a bit of chillout this week but I did however get some bits done for the nova that I've been wanting to sort for a while, Got my dizzy cap, spare dizzy cap and temp sender housing all prepared and painted gloss black......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astraturbowip079.jpg?t=1194713129

Also I've been thinking about other changes to the engine bay, The cambelt cover and front wiper motor back plate have been stripped of their paint and prepared ready for the chromers......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astraturbowip084.jpg?t=1194713391

Also I'm currently on with these as once prepared they will also be going for chroming too......

Now for the astra... Yesterday evening the astra was on the lift and all wheels were removed, All tyre beads were broken then the wheels were prepared and painted. I've only done the faces at the moment as I was unsure how the colour would look but I opted for it after using it for Andy bishops wheels earlier in the year which look great on the car imo, Apologies for no prep and paint pics as I actually forgot my camera but heres the final result.........

Also While the wheels were off last night I attacked the brake calipers and prepared them for some nice black paint too as they havent been painted before and looked rather ugly! This morning was spent removing the old reg plates and rusty screws to replace them with new euro plates and sticky pads also I had a wander to see a valeter that works with me as he has a massive pile of floor matts and got myself some free ones! Below are some more pics now the bodyworks all finished I'm really pleased with the final look.

A nice runabout but its let down by a cut up front bumper and with the standard of your nova i feel you could do alot better

A simple gsi front bumper and rear spoiler swap would make a nice runabout a possible show car

keep up the good work and get some back to black on the tyres :)

Thanks, without doubt there is room for improvements with extras that could be added etc however I'd much rather spend that cash on the nova and keep upping the standard of that instead, The astra will never be a show car not while I own it anyhow! As for the tyre black etc I havent put any on for the reason that a lot of them use certain chemicals that can mark fresh paintwork and with the wheels being painted under 24hrs ago I think I'll leave it a week or two! Aha I was waiting for someone to spot that! There are no fogs John only the lenses as the fog units have been removed because they'd foul the cooler pipes, The red you can see is the cooler pipework! They were'nt that visible before but when I degreased everything they are now quite visible!

Ahh i see! Imo I reckon it'd look good with late spec sri black tint headlamps, when i had my sxi they improved the front no end. Also the rear tinted lamps too. IIrc they're all on trade club and not that badly priced.

I was reading this at a mates house the other night, Fantastic cars, both of em. A real credit to you.

Good luck with the sale, yet again another Nova I wish I could afford. The Astra too.

Craig, thanks for the kind words fella

I have had a few people messaging me regarding the astra today... The reason I didnt do a for sale thread for it was due to the fact a good friend of mine wanted first refusal after seeing it the other day, He has got back to me today saying he will have it so the astra is now provisionally sold but I will let everyone know If this changes in anyway, thanks, Nick.

Hi All, well as some of you may have read my astra went to its new home today which I was quite gutted about, so I thought Id get busy and work on some new parts I've been actually been waiting for around three months for these to arrive! Last year I added carbon door/quarter cards and steering cowel so Inside wise I thought a carbon boot panel would compliment these however the finished articles dont have the best finish so as I did with my door and quarter cards I prepped them for a few coats of high build lacqeur......

There are some air holes in the carbon weave after these first few coats but I will be rubbing them down once again shortly and re-lacqeuring them to seal/fill these in and give an even deeper finish etc.

Also I carried on with my rocker cover, I wanted to prepare my own parts for the chroming company as I know the finished articles will be even better If I took my time to remove all the pitting and rough surface etc also hopefully it should make it a little cheaper too!

Rocker cover fully prepared down to 3000 grade!

This is something I found on ebay a while back so as there quite hard to get hold of I thought I'd snap it up as a spare, So Im currently polishing it all up, Once is completely polished I think Im going to paint the vacuum advance gloss black....

Another part I've recently finished is a front wiper motor... I actually got worried as I'd stripped it completely and it was in so many pieces I thought It would never work again! But after putting it all back together a quick check with the power probe proved it worked and I hadnt wrecked it!

All painted up gloss black.......

Hi All, Its update time! I know its been a while since my last update however those of you who know me quite well will know Ive been busy with other ventures......My first house! The astra in this thread was sold but I managed to keep the nova which was a bonus as I never wanted to part with it in the first place! Plus our house has a garage so perfect for the nova! Anyhow I kept looking at the nova inside/out and the engine bay to see were it could be improved etc. I spent a lot of time thinking and this is what Ive come up with.... Hope you like! :)

Interior wise....

The following went to Raj at autoflock.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00526.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00529.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00531.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00532.jpg

A,B pillar trims, sunvisors, inserts, speaker covers and I had a spare fuse box cover done as the one that was previously flocked was'nt covered properly on the top edge... Im thinking the flocked pillar trims should go great next to the rear carbon cards that are already in place and Although the dash had already been flocked the speaker covers and dash surrounds on the top were not done so Ive had some of these done to match.... However something a little more special awaits the other dash/ interior parts! Big thanks to Raj by the way as the work is excellent and cost me a mere £35 delivered back to me for all of the above!

These also arrived but I am a little unsure of them at the mo....

Engine bay wise.....

Again I kept looking at the bay to see were I could improve it... I decided that the fuel pressure reg/Filter was going to get it! Bmw 668 gloss black style! Not an easy task though probably the most fidly item Ive ever masked! But well worth it....

All stripped/rubbed and masked....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip005.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip007-1.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip003-2.jpg

I had to place rivets in the reg housing to prevent paint getting into the threads... also using a trusty belt sander I ground down another rivet to fit the reg breather hole in the top. And heres how it turned out....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip022.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip016.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip014.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip015.jpg

Also I cleaned up and used a little autosol to get this part back to its best...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip024.jpg

The bracket that holds the pressure reg had been previously painted matt black however as it bolts to the strut top I decided it would be good to paint it bodycolour being ferrari rosso corsa...

Into the paint stripper it went and a quick rub later it was lined up ready for paint...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip010.jpg

And painted....

Still continuing with the engine bay I decided that my carbon cambelt cover was looking a little dull so off it came for a freshen up...

All rubbed and ready for action..

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip001-2.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip002-1.jpg

A few coats of sealer followed by a few coats of lacqeur and we have one fine looking cambelt cover........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip025.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip026.jpg

I had also purchased a carbon heatsheild to go with other carbon items under the bonnet but when it arrived it was also rather dull :( And obviously is was going to get rather hot so I didnt fancy giving it my normal treatment... But one of the guys I work with mentioned using a high temp lacqeur on it, As I wasnt happy with the item I thought I may as well give it a try, Heres the outcome....

From this.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip2007.jpg

To this....

A hell of an improvement Im sure you'll agree!

Whilst I was on with the bits and pieces mentioned earlier my local chroming firm were on with numerous bits for me, Im not a huge fan of a huge mass of chrome but little bits here and there I think look well..

Following the carbon theme I had another idea and borrowed a vin tag from matthew172 cheers mate! Bought a 2*2 twill plate from ebay and had it cut to size/shape....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip012-1.jpg?t=1214507548

Then I prepared it and gave it a coat of lacqeur......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00021.jpg?t=1214507795

Although the pic doesnt show it this enhanced the carbon weave. Once dry I took it to my local printers and they added my text to it...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00025-1.jpg?t=1214507933

Not the best pic but you get the idea.... Lastly I relacqeured the tag to seal in all the lettering etc this way it will never come off when cleaning etc.

Final result......

On to the exterior then...

I was almost happy with this however one thing I wanted to change was the exhaust which I bought (earlier in the thread) and is currently being fitted. Also after seeing a thread by Mark ridley (novacabrio) stating he had some Raceline RL7's for sale I started getting Ideas! After a certain month or so thinking about it I finally got in touch with him and he met me at the Jov rr day a few months back with my new wheels! cheers Mark! No time was wasted and I got straight on with them...

How we started...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip067.jpg?t=1214508907

As the tyres has almost had it I just had the beads broken front and rear this allows you to paint the inside and outside at the same time after the tyre is taped up rather than doing the inside followed by the outside which is how I used to do them.

After a little rubbing...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip066.jpg?t=1214509160

Masked up....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip065.jpg?t=1214509190

And all prepared in the booth ready for paint......

Nick J
26-06-08, 08:49 PM
All painted up......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip075.jpg?t=1214509546
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip074.jpg?t=1214509623
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip073.jpg?t=1214509642
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/astrawip072.jpg?t=1214509666

Although my intension was always to paint them black to suit my cars theme etc I think they look so much better than when they are white.

Nick J
26-06-08, 08:53 PM
As the cars now going to be on 15" rims I didnt want it to look like there was huge amounts of space between the tyre and the arches so I purchased this setup from Martin Kelson at pv. (Cheers fella!) This If needs be will sort the rear out and I will just wind down the ledas at the front to suit...

Short bodied Avo's with 100mm springs....

They came out looking like this.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00030.jpg?t=1214510371

Then they were prepared and lined up to paint....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00031.jpg?t=1214510575

Nick J
26-06-08, 09:13 PM
Another new purchase was some new poly's to go with the new exhaust....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/scobyshootoutday022-1.jpg?t=1214510698

There was only one part that came back from the chromers that I wasnt happy with which was the wiper motor backing plate... I thought the marks may be covered but after offering it up Ive found they are not! So to plan B!

Got another part and stripped it then prepared it for some paint...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip2001.jpg?t=1214510863

Back to the interior then.....

Earlier in the thread you may remember me saying I had some special parts on the way? Well after speaking to Don Fulford a few months ago I decided to let him give some of my dash surrounds,A pillar covers and a few other items the carbon treatment... I was hoping these would turn out as good as the carbon steering shroud I have which was also done by him. And guess what I wasnt dissapointed! ...............

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/P1010127.jpg?t=1214511778

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/P1010130.jpg?t=1214511875

I dont even need to work on these parts to make them look proper as his work is awesome! Even though they cost a small fortune Im really happy with them So a big thanks to Don for these and one or two other bits hes also done for me... But I will save them for the next update!

Update time....... Full new exhaust system is now fitted along with freshly heatwrapped manifold, Goodridge braided flexis and a new servo have gone on too as my the pedal has never felt as good when I swapped to the 288's and V6 calipers from the standard 16v brakes, We thought the servo may have been to blame so I sourced another got it painted and fitted and Now I must say the pedal does feel much better whether thats just the flexis or the servo Im unsure but as said the brakes are much better so jobs a good one!

Exhaust.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip036-1.jpg?t=1214775143

New wiper motor and backplate all fitted up... notice chrome fittings!

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip043.jpg?t=1214775345

And another small item I had made by Clive @ Custom solutions... I asked for a plain cap (no griffin) and no inscribing to go for a cleaner look etc, Im really pleased with it and it hides the motor by having it at the rear top stuff....

I must also apologise to the N easts chaps today as I did say I was going to there meet however realising Billing is fast approaching I thought I must press on and spend some more time on the nova etc...

New Magnecore leads and the Black dizzy cap I painted up a while ago replace the K1 leads and the old orange cap....

And Carbon boot panel also fitted although the fit is not over brilliant due to the carbon piece being flat and not curved like the original cover but as you dont see too much of It I'll be leaving it on for now anyhow! Notice chrome boot latch getting into the shot too!

Back to the bay then...

I was unsure how the carbon cambelt cover would go with the chrome rocker cover so I had another belt cover chromed and have opted to use this for now, Although now there is a fair amount of shineyness under the bonnet and If Im honest I think there may be too much! So I may go back to the bodycoloured camcover at a later date etc, Ive tried to use a contrast of everything really.... colour, chrome and carbon (few bits to add yet) but heres how the bay looks now, Let me know what your personal opinions are please! Heres how it looks at the moment... Note chrome bonnet stay and self tappers too!........

Lastly for this evening Is a few shots of something I know you'll have probably been waiting for being the wheels! Sadly the weather was starting to turn so before the car was put away I took a few pics just to give you a quick insight to how they look etc....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip072.jpg?t=1214778198

The hub caps and stickers are missing at the mo due to me being undecided on the colour scheme... I painted the hub caps grey to go with grey raceline stickers I had made up but now Im thinking hub caps maybe best black and then I also have a choice of matt black stickers which I also had made up but then everything maybe tooooo black! decisions decisions! Better wheel pics to follow within the next few days etc.

Hope you like whats been done so far, I also want to say a big thanks to the guys at autohaus diagnostics who have done a great job on the exhaust, brakes etc over the past week and to my friendly panel beater from work who gave me a hand today to get some more bits done, cheers! :)

Racelines are cool as feck  was going to suggest red stickers and hubs, but maybe not - bit too flash. A light grey will be good. Also have you considered painting the hubs blue for the left and red for the right?

Ash.. I did originally think about red stickers but thought they may look a bit Jap stylee??

Martin.. give me a day or so for the next update :D

Geordie Chris... You canny beat a bit of shiney can you! Your Car was looking great at pv by the way :thumb:

Hybrid turbo.. Thanks fella I did have a fearless front brace but sold it in favour of the sparco item as the fearless one hid the clenliness of the carbs etc, regret it a bit now though!

Matt172... You've made a fair few of these jobs possible so big thanks to you for that... I will bear it in mind when I sort them few bits out for you etc... I wont give too much away!

Hey Adam, yes it does workout quite well when I have bits to do!

Dan.. Thanks fella

Jeff.... I had a full stainless system made to replace the centre exit exhaust on the white shell no more than 3 years ago, that was swapped to this car when it was all built up, tbh the only thing I didnt like was the tailpipe design... 4" slash cut looks like it should be on an impreza etc! Its not a badly made exhaust I was going to put it up for sale soon but If your interested just drop me a pm etc. Im sure they will be some pics at the beginning of the thread to show you how the tailpipe did look before? If that helps.

Ok so onto a little update from this eves....

First off most important to start with...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip082.jpg?t=1214943855

Now were ready to go.....! Flocked sunvisors into place shortly followed by flocked speakers covers.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip088.jpg?t=1214943931

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip094.jpg?t=1214944365

Some of you who may be a little beady eyed may have noticed this on the end of the paint stand in previous pics when I painted the wheel centres but did you guess what it was for...?

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/DSC00043.jpg?t=1214944574

It was for my new gearknob another carbon product but as above came with a silver finished collar and I thought it would look better black, heres how it looks....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip083.jpg?t=1214944712

Quick pic of chrome door mechs and screws that made it in the other day...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip085.jpg?t=1214944745

Thought Id try a centre on for size and see how the colour looks...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip080.jpg?t=1214944846

Quite happy at that I think!

Nick J
01-07-08, 09:47 PM
I actually got some original raceline stickers when I bought the wheels but didnt think blue would go with black not on my car anyhow so I dropped by at the local printers who do a lot of custom decals on the minis for work and got these made up....... black, dark grey and original blue items, I think Im going to go with the black ones atm....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip092.jpg?t=1214945175

Also added this to continue the carbon cockpit theme...

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip089.jpg?t=1214945236

Nick J
01-07-08, 09:59 PM
I also removed these to make way for new items.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip074.jpg?t=1214945405

Quick manifold shot whilst no heat shield is on... note new studs, nuts and nice white heatwrap!

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip076.jpg?t=1214945521

Here we go then new carbon items replace the other bling items, Im a little happier now as the carbon has toned the bay down a little I think?? Looking few old reciepts the other day it seemed martin hill had used qed as well as sbd for a few of the smaller items for his engine build at the end of 2002 and I was on there site last week saw the cover and found it too tempting to resist! Note my oil caps just arrived back from the chromers too!

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip077.jpg?t=1214945907

Also on a larger scale.....

Bit of a delayed shot this as Its now fitted but here was my new servo rubbed and mounted up ready for paint.. I cut down some sealer nozzles and taped them up to stop any paint getting into the servo, It worked a treat!...

Thats all for this eves folks, Im having the bonnet pin switch moved within the next few days as Its positioned just on the edge of the firewall above the battery at the mo and this means my carbon scuttle trim wont sit flush!
When thats done I can get the new trim in. really pleased with how its coming on now good job really as billings only round the corner! Lastly these are getting collected tommorow so no going back now!

Cheers Mark but I'll pass...... Them bolts cost a small fortune! Genuine anodised black Bmw wheel bolts and lockers! When the speedlines came off and the RL7's went on I noticed my awful silver looking nuts so we measured a bmw bolt and it was the same size/taper! Result! :)

Evening all, My alarm guy was round earlier to discuss moving the bonnet switch for the alarm.. Howvever we've decided it will look much cleaner to leave it were it is and to just shave a little off the carbon scuttle instead. That said while said alarm guy was around I thought I may as well take full advantage and get him to drill the holes needed in the centre vent dash trim and the headlamp switch section for said switches etc as the prospect of taking a drill to £££ worth of carbon trim was quite scary!!!! But as he obviously has the correct tools we got a top result ! Heres some finished article pics!! I think they look awesome and are very happy that some of my crazy ideas have worked out well!! :D .........

Central vent panel with flush fit led for the alarm...

Hi All, small update time...... As you may have seen in previous pics Don had covered my original baseplates for my manta mirrors in carbon too however he did say "how about just making some from carbon itself?" But as the baseplates I had made were an excellent fit I told him to cover then anyhow but to put me some carbon sheet in with the bits he had done for me so I could at a later date look into this. But now my original plates have been covered they are obviously thicker and heavier (as they were made from stainless) So I passed some of dons carbon sheet to a engineer friend of my dads who previously made my original plates. Dons sheet comes covered front and back in a stickerback metal to make it easier to cut to shape without damaging the carbon inside.....

My covered stainless plate....

Plates made up from carbon sheet.... (You can just see where the exposed carbon where I peeled the edge back.)

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip129.jpg?t=1215355732

Then I gently by aid of some pliers peeled back the sheet......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip130.jpg?t=1215355794

The above was quite painstaking tbh as I really didnt want to crack the plates but I eventually got both sides done undamaged and prepared them for coat of lacqeur after work tommorow eves. Really glad Don suggested this as they are super light and will look and fit better than the ones he did for me, Thanks Don!...........

Hey guys, small update time... I stayed after work this eves to lacqeur up my carbon baseplates I would have just done them in with a job for work but they cannot be baked and must airdry hence leaving them until last thing....

Ready to go.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip135.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip136.jpg

Later all sealed and lacqeured.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip145.jpg

Another small Item I painted at the same time was my battery clamp... Ive sent one to the chromers but Its not due back until after billing so Ive got hold of another and just treated it to a fresh coat of gloss black.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip138.jpg

Fingers crossed the baseplates will be fine when I get into work tommorow... I hate working with carbon fibre as its so tempremental etc! Then I can get the new baseplates on the car and add the new inner carbon plates too!

Looking at the engine bay again I noticed my fuel reg screws/washers were looking a bit tarnished so I dropped by the stainless place and picked up some neat looking stainless replacements, much nicer Im sure you'll agree!......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novawip148.jpg?t=1215457306

Thats all for this eves folks hopefully another update tommorow! :)

Still looking great, Do you have to use a sealer on the carbon? I was thinking you might want to get your carbon guy to make a copy of mine for the future. I haven't used them yet, just removed the paint.

Shame i won't be at billing now, i'd love to see this in the flesh.
