inturnal fuel pump xe

ive fitted a mpi fuel pump in it worked for a week then today as i pulled up on the drive it died tested if i had fuel presure there was none so i put the wires on to battery and the pump just klunks either way i put wires on dont fancy taking tank off for there to be a simple reason? thx

If you've hard wired the pump and it still doesn't work then you're gonna have to bite the bullet and take the tank off, unless you have a later car and you have an acess panel under the rear seat. If it works when it's hard wired then i reckon you have another fault, possible the relay?

didnt work when on battery and it is the early one with out hole gutted only brought the pump a week ago driven the car for 5 days

Perhaps the pump was dodgy/on its last legs in the first place.

Is it a proper external pump your using?

no its one out of a astra in tank one metal casing decided against the exturnal one
