1.4sr Dash Board

I've noticed for a while now that the old dash board is really dim, so off I went to good old Halfords to buy some replacement bulbs, I found the correct allen key and got to work taking out the screws surrounding the dash, I got as far as removing the plastic front and thats it. I got so pissed with it I took off every thing you can see, I even tried taking the steering wheel off but cant the actual dash out!! :( anyone got any ideas. Now I am driving about with half the car in bits :oops:

Can some one give me a Blue Peter style brake down as to how to get it out and relace the bulbs. :D

push the speedo cable through in the engine bay

Last question, I took the horn cover off and there is a gold contact there but it doesnt work, the horn has been intermittant and has never really worked, any ideas :!: :!: :?
