gsi oil pump

i tryed to order an oil pump for my gsi. supposidly there is some sort of change in the oil pumps in the gsi. i think its to do with the timing belt. the later gsis have more teeth on the belt. is there a belt tensioner in the later models or somthing. can anybody tell me if a gsi on a j plate has the earlier or the later version of the oil pump. cheers

My H reg GSi (E16SE) had a tensioner wheras GTE's tended not to.

Take down your engine number as I would have imagined the parts supplier could tell from this.

Mine was E16SE02K The K being the digit thats quite important re this matter.

An earlier block I had without the tensioner was on 02J stamp.

J reg will quite certainly have a tensioner. 111 tooth belt.
