Speedo cable again!!!

Got my new Speedo cable the other day (cheers Craig green again)

Got around to fitting it today, got the old one off and found that there was a sensor kind of thing there (see pics) and that the old cable simply screwed on.
So I screwed the new cable on the sensor thingy and fed it through to the dash. Pushed it in to the clocks and went for a spin.
But for some reason the Speedo still doesn?t work. Any ideas as to why, might be that the new cable is not meant to have this sensor thing and should I just remove it and go with out it

take the clocks out and stick the car up on stands, put it in gear and rev it as if you were moving, look at the end of the speedo cable and see if it spins, if it does then try new/old clocks, if it doesnt then take the speed sensor off and try again, if it still doesnt spin then get a new cable. I'm using one off a corsa atm.

The sensor is for the ECU.. Leave it on.

I'd say from that your clocks are funked!

OR the drive pin in the sensor is broken..
So its not driving the cable.

all is sorted now, turned out that the clock was fooked!! so ive replaced it with another one and its spot on. cheers for all your help lads.
