well ive just been out in the nova. been stood about 2 weeks or so. gave it a bit of a run round then took it on the dual carriage way, gave it some from 1st to second changed at about 6000rpm and then all of a sudden it sounds a bit like a subaru :( and lost power. any ideas guys ?????

sounds like you snapped a rocker. i bet this is a carb 1.2

dont know what engine you have but mine did this a while back now and is was the plugs had decided to loosen themselves silly i know but check you have spark etc because as paul said sounds like your running on 3

remove the spark plug cover, remove each lead from the spark plug, and see if it makes a difference to the running.

If it doesnt, check for a spark on all 4 leads.

It really does sound as though its running on 3.

ive know XE's to just pop the plug lead of , due to the washer being ****ed on the plug and not sealing proper ,

rexy's saloon was a **** for it, evertime a m3 went past it would do it lol

rite ive checked the leads and plugs... the plugs were as black as the ace of spades and i only changed them a couple of weeks ago, theres petrol in there aswel. ive cleaned the sparks up and still no joy.... could it be something to do with my back box ? it sounds terrible lol

thats what i was thinking lol it just sound a little like a subaru but lost power :confused: its going to a garage monday anyway so theres a few hundred quid due to other things wrong with it !!! all good fun though ha haha

well black plugs is over fuelling. Did they all look the same, like were 3 black an one white?

does it take ages to rev, when you got your foot flat on the floor lol some times it hesitates but its running ****e as it has 280 duration cams and standard management :( also has one of those stupid fse power ****e valves but thats soon to change. phillsutton: nah they were all black when i pulled them out :thumb:

Turn the pressure down an see what happens ive tried but it just cuts out. ive got a standard reg im gunna try and fit sunday im not sure how tho as im ****e with mechanics lol
