Well the price of mk2 astras is a bit steep, they seem rather rare, i thought corsa gsi's would of been quicker than that.
I do still really want a corsa gsi but its not looking like ill gain any performance over my 1.6 mk2 golf.
Anyone on here own/ed a corsa gsi? Id be after just fitting a few subtle performance mods like full ss,4 branch manifold, induction kit, performance cams.
just buy a xe powered corsa gsi, theres not much price difference and they performance will be slightly better than it is in an astra, same to insure etc...
EDIT: XE is the slang name for a c20xe, the engine which is found in cav gsi's, astra gtes+gsi's and calibra 16v's. aka red top, you probably knew that but i just thought id make my self clear.

So you reckoning id be able to get a 2.0 gsi corsa for the same price as a standard gsi corsa?

Same or similar. There is no real book price, just ballparks of ?500-2000 depending on condition, demand and toys.
XE corsas are more common than standard corsa Gsi's! lol
A converted one is worth the same, maybe a tiny bit more....
