Hey yall

I curently working on me Nova and i have no stereo and crap standard speakers, what would be the best set up for a decent loudness, bassy and quite clear?

i was thinking a new head unit, a set of 6 x 9s on the rear shelf and a sub in the boot? what kinda amps would i need? would this provide a decent setup? and disconnecting the stadard speakers.

Any ideas on a decent setup? without going OTT, simplicty is best

Hi mate, i started the same way as u, from the beginning, i made friends with a chap at a local radio shop, his advice was
"When you go to a concert what do you face??? The music, plus if you put a lot of bass in the boot it will help kill your shelf speakers"
if i were you, i'd fit a nice pair of front components (say, 5inch speakers and seperate tweeters) in to the doors and a sub in the boot, this mate, if done properly will kick ass, it takes time to build your sterio, just like your car, so dont rush it,
p.s. Sound proofing helps no end.

Hi Mate,

I have just fitted a simple but kick ass system in my Nova that didn't cost me more than a tonne for the whole lot.

Sony Head Unit (tape deck, i know.... i'm changing it soon!)
Sherwood (i think) 75W Real RMS per channel 2 channel Amp.. connected to...
Sony Xplod 6*9's in the rear standard shelf. using the orignal front speakers at the mo, but as the sony's are 3 way 6*9's they componsate for it, i would replace them though is you have the spare cash....

Oh yeah.. and bin the standard speakers in the back...

Admittedly a sub would help give it a little more sub bass, but the 6*9's running of an amp have a fair punch!

I'll proberbly add a powered bass tube at a later date, as i like my bass punchy as opposed to car rattling!! lol

Hope this helps

(Sony 6*9 speakers ?39.99 in Argos! can't beat it!)
