Didnt read your reply propely sorry

I've mounted them to the bar that runs inside the bumber witha steel plate 6" long by 3" wide and cut a groove in the number plaet area. So if i dicide to take them of i can just move the numberplaet back up to hide the slots

I'l try get you some pictures Rich.... But on my XR2 there is a thin metal plate that goes inbetween the bumper/grill and bolts onto the the front panel out of view.

It appears that whatever you do, the bumper will sag... and this means you don't have to cut holes in a GSi front too !

If your interested in seeing how they work, just let me know!

Proper 2-up, 2-down brackets are still available from Tweeks as far as I know. Think they bolt on via the brackets that hold the bumper brace to the body, and come up and over between the bumper and grille.

Cheers, theres not much left of my bumper bar as its chopped out to clear my intercooler, and theres no room behind the bumper / grill to mount any thing either, think i'm gonna have to have some kind of L shaped bracket coming off the bottom of the cross member and sticking up the front of the bumper ??
Lamp pods are ace but its just gonna be a temporary thing so dont really wanna chop / drill any body work, plus there not the cheapest of things !!

As i said Rich, mk2 XR2's have quite substantial L brackets... bolting somewhere down on the front panel.

I'l take a picture of mine tommorow. You might beable to adapt a set.

Cheers, my intercooler takes up most of the space on my front panel, a pic might give me an idea tho.
I'd say it'll have to be mounted to the bottom of the cross member tbh.

Aye, extended the bumper bar back abit then the brackets just bolt to that and thru the number plate screw, 2 M8 Nuts and 1 M5 bolt on each side, only need to take grill off to remove them.
Brackets are foam backed so won't mark the bumper / grill either.
Should light up the back roads a bit better !!

I was going to ask if its for road rallies etc or just keen road use!

Actually looks good, I always associate big spotlamps on Novas with early mk1's in rally guise. It suits your car in a hardcore way.

They look cool.
Will they be road legal?

Nova headlamps are complete ****e for dark country road use ( i nearly got caught out the other night, nearly took a right turn when it was a left bend, and i even know the road lol)

Doing a 12 car Rally with work in a few week, so was really just for that, might do a few more if it goes ok tho.

Nah probly not !!
There was loads of guff that came with them saying how high they had to be ect ... Not gonna be a permanent fixture so should be ok.

Was Billing 2000, it was the Sports first outing.
Unfortunately the lights only lasted 2 weeks before some stupid woman drove into me wiping out all four brand new Cibie Super Oscars:cry:
Mind you it did write off her Mk2 Golflol
Me dad said not to bother as someone would reverse into them or something, bloody parents why are they always right!
The brackets were heavy duty ones from Demon Thieves.
Got a pair of Lucas 20/20's to go on my new Sport, not sure whether to fit them yet tho

ere are some picture off my nova with the lights that i use for 12 car rallys and scatters. they attach at the top through the grill to the slam panel and at the bottom to the bumper irons. its like having a light pod but on brackets instead of on your bonnet! i designed and made these brackets myself and can make some more if anyone is interested for a reasonable price. They are made form 35x5mm mild steel and i have had these powder coated or they can be sprayed. the bits of sponge are just to protect the ends of the mounts while i aint got me spot lights on which is at the moment not very often lol!
