xe funny running

When i give my XE some slight revs it cuts out, then climbs the revs. then cuts out, then climbs again, so makes me kangeroo when im in gear! But when i took the tps off (assuming thats what it is! on the top of the tb) it runs ok:tard: whats going on?!

Left it for a bit and its running fine now:confused: Bloody cars! Any suggestions to what it might be anyway?
