cam changing

can i change the cam with out taking the head off tried before but it gets stuck on the lifters anyone got any suggestions.

you need the draper (or sykes pykavant) GM 8v cam removal tool.

Can it be done with 1 tool Stu or do you need 4, 1 for each cylinder?

I've done it & used it before, but I couldnt remember if you can do it with just the one, which I'd figure not.

Ask about for the tool as its likely you could hire it from a Vaux mechanic or well equipped garage.

1 tool does one valve.... you do them one at a time from the dizzy to the cam belt end. take out the follower and move along one.

the tool is aobut ?10 a go. might aswell buy one.

We used a set of 4. I remember that.
