Was driving back from my sisters place only to spot something unusual in a showroom window.

On closer inspection, it turned out that this was the real thing. Don't know if many of you guys like Fords or not...lol

Saw one up Basildon a little while ago, having around Canvy Island, Doubted if it was the real thing, due to the way this bloke was driving it! But hey! some people love chucking money away. take chavs for instance! lol

I didn't even dare to ask! I hate to think what sort of deposit I'd need to put down even if they took me seriously. I once naively tried to test drive an NSX at my local Honda garage, turned up in my best suit after work in my 7 series - they saw straight through it and told me I'd have to pay a 3% deposit just to test drive at ?750....lol

I loved the made to order bit, As I recall, there were 200 of them thrown together at the Reliant works at Two Gates in Tamworth, yup the home of the three wheeler, just to get them Homologated for group B rallying, & they then tried to sell them. The car was a classic parts bin special, the front doors are shortened sierra ones, the original engines were based on the old mk2 escort cosworth bda with a turbo.

But I also remember the film of the circuit of Ireland rally when this little kid ran out & got hit by Kalle Grundel doing about 120mph & flung about 20yds into a field. He got up & only had a broken arm. The driver was so shaken that he retired from rallying.

Uses a Sierra windscreen and a XR2 dash too!
