Did anyone else run/know of any std(ish) 2.0 16V Novas running up the Pod today? I ran 15.3 and I am curious to see how this compares to others?

I got all four runs in early on before the queues built up. F reg Black GTE. Looks pretty standard (de-stickered). Screwed up 2nd-3rd on 3rd run, but other than that car was good. Well chuffed :D

I was pretty sure Ian's quickest was actually 14.89.

CP ran 15.43 in his 1.4! (more to come when the FD and clutch are sorted)

As a guide, most std 2.0 16v's run anywhere between a shade under 15 up to mid 15's.

was it just me or did the timing seem a bit wierd yesterday?

OK, so 15.3 is reasonably respectable then (they were my first runs up the Pod). Car was fully laden (seats. spare, etc) and I am on the lardy side
Several people do seem to have had iffy terminal speeds on some runs (including me)??

Terminal velocity should not be confused with how fast you can cover a 1/4 mile. It is irrelevant (spelling?). You could be in a 911 turbo, stall on the line, waste 15 seconds starting it, accelerate like hell to cross the line at 100mph, but you still clocked almost 30 seconds! See. You could be in the same car, have a good start, accelerate like hell to have your diff sieze b4 the line causing you to skid acroos the line, your terminal speed could be 50mph, yet you covered it in 15 seconds!

When I drove CP's car, I reacted well, but bogged down, losing loads of time, but once I got going I reached a high top speed, just with a poor time.

It's used mainly as a gude to how good your low, mid and high range accelration is.
