Hi royston, welcome aboard the goodship png! (johnh off the old pvg;) )
I have a sport ( will f's old one), or rather currently a collection of rust, more rust, and various disassembled bits! Jan 2008 will see the start of what will probably be the longest re-build ever, i'm aiming for the 30th anniversary do's, not pvg next yearlol . I'll be sure to post a wip as and when:thumb: .

Hi mr royston.
i find it's always easier to be realistic with project deadlineslol by the time it's done it will most definately be a classic! The critics don't worry me , ( to those concerned, put your car where your mouth is i say:p lol ) there'll always be some, it'll just be built to a good original spec, nothing along the lines of rich's concourse build.
dec, do you have any pics from when you first bought it?
Welcome royston, I see you've found us! lol
Only just noticed yesterday that pvgs gone! Bit of a shame but tbh theres been more chatting in a morgue than on there the last few months! lol
John h- have you done much to your sport so far? dont think ive seen a project page on it yet.

This is the only one I have (sorry for the quality, it's a photo of a photo!! lol )
As you can see, it was well chavved up, colour coded bumpers and SR wheels... tasty!

I seen a white Nova today - Looked like an SR
But it had a Nova Sport engine - Irmscher manifold and Twin Weber carbs with DCOE143 and DCOE144, also had the front end with the white around the headlights

Sport was a dealer kit though wasn't it? The stickers, carbs, air box etc came in the boot. So its possible a sport didn't have the weber carbs fitted and was still on the pierburg jobbie.
no stickers either so really a c plate sr
Sport was built upon a base model, not the SR.
Good point RJ, I knew carbs came in the boot but thought the stickers would have been applied.
Rumour has it the graphics were fitted at the docks.

I think it was only the trial stickers that were applied at the docks to see which they liked.
The decals were applied at the dealers, I remember speaking to a guy in the trade a few years back that applied some for a local dealer back in the day.
Remember these cars would be probably covered in protective wax until being delivered to the dealers.

Stickers came supplied in the boot with the sport kit, not all cars came with them aswell!!
